Size Guide

Whether you're a piercing pro or just starting out, getting the right size matters — for comfort, safety, and style. Here’s a quick guide to understanding jewellery gauge and length so you can find your perfect fit.

📏 What is Gauge?

Gauge (G) refers to the thickness of the jewellery bar or post. It’s a standard measurement used across all body jewellery.

🔄 The smaller the gauge number, the thicker the jewellery.

Millimetres (mm) Gauge (G) Common Uses
0.8mm 20G Thin nose studs, earrings
1.0mm 18G Nose rings, studs, lobe piercings
1.2mm 16G Cartilage (helix, tragus), septum, daith, rook, lip, eyebrow
1.6mm 14G Belly bars, nipple rings, tongue bars
2.0mm 12G Stretching jewellery

4.0mm 6G Stretching jewellery
5.0mm 4G Stretching jewellery
6.0mm 2G Stretching jewellery
7.0mm 1G Stretching jewellery
8.0mm 0G Stretching jewellery
10.0mm 00G Stretching jewellery
12.0mm 1/2" Plugs, tunnels
14.0mm 9/16" Plugs, tunnels
16.0mm 5/8" Plugs, tunnels
19.0mm 3/4" Plugs, tunnels
22.0mm 7/8" Plugs, tunnels

📐 Understanding Length

The length of your jewellery is measured as the internal distance between the two ends — whether that's balls, flat backs, or ring sides. It does not include the thickness or size of the ends themselves.

  • For straight bars: Measured between the two threads or ends

  • For curved bars: Measured in a straight line between the ends

  • For rings: Measured across the internal diameter, not the outer edge

This ensures you're getting the most accurate and comfortable fit.
